Happy New Year to all our web-friends!
Probably some of our new year resolutions have gone by the wayside already. Yet those who make them, sometimes half in fun, do so from a sense that the New Year offers a new beginning, a fresh start, if we want it too.
Maybe the place to start is with ourselves: to pray for a more open heart for ourselves so that we can see and sieze the opportunites that come our way.
Jesus did not say in the Gospel, ‘blessed are the they who talk about peace’. He said, ‘blessed are they who make peace’.
In the first days of the New Year, with a more open heart, we can commit to peace-making, starting in our immediate environment of family and neighbourhood.
