Joining Us

We believe that God calls those whom He wants to call and when he wants to call so we are delighted to receive inquiries from women thinking of consecrating themselves to God in religious life. Initially there is a period of preparation before entry, followed by two years of novitiate, then temporary profession and final profession.

The formation program is tailored to the woman’s previous life experience but includes some study of theology, developing a life of prayer, praying the Prayer of the Church, and the traditions and foundational documents of the Congregation.

Experience in various types of ministry and living in different communities is also part of the formation experience.

Working with Us

You can be connected with us in several ways. We have Associates, a formal relationship with the Congregation inspired by the deepening awareness of our common call to mission in Baptism. Associates join us in our work for faith and justice centering on those with few resources.  Interested persons follow a program of familiarization with the spirit and works of the Congregation before making their commitment as associates. There are active and vibrant associate groups in Ireland, the US and Trinidad.

Prayer associates were established in Ireland in 1989. At present there are around 240 members. Prayer associates undertake to pray for the sisters and the people we serve.

Volunteers, who may or not be associates, help us in many ways by donating time in direct service, or advise us on various Boards and committees.
