Sr. Juliet Rajah, Holy Faith Sister from Trinidad visited Riwoto during the month of September and offers a short reflection of her visit.
South Sudan is a vibrant Catholic community. Although deprived of the infrastructure to access basic amenities, the indigenous people gather joyfully in worship each Sunday to give thanks and praise to God. The primary school, St. Mary Magdalen, which was set up by the Holy Faith Sisters in 2013 now has a growing school population. Students are eager to learn. The morning assembly is led by two students each day and signs of leadership are evident. Kudos to Sr. Margo and Sisters for a job well done as they continue to serve the indigenous people of Riwoto. It is said that one cannot be a missionary if one is unable to have porridge/ oats for breakfast…I did!!!
