Three parishes in the Diocese of Dublin raised money for the Holy Faith school in South Sudan. This was simply the outcome of parishioners who heard about what we were doing and wanted to help – no request was made by us. A big thank you to the parishioners who contributed in the weeks before Christmas when there so many other pressures on household finances.
So many charities benefitted from the generosity of people before Christmas when there could be some excuse for charity fatigue. Kilkenny Design ran a gift wrapping service with donations for the St Vincent de Paul Society. At least three charities for the homeless benefitted from the Belvo sleep out which raised a record amount this year.
Parishioners of the three parishes who donated to the Holy Faith school in Riwoto are invited to an evening in the Margaret Aylward Centre in the convent in Glasnevin on Thursday 22 January when the school principal , Sr Margo Delaney, will give an illustrated talk on where the donors’ money goes and respond to questions.
