Beyond hearing a portion of the gospel each time we celebrate Mass, have you thought much of how there are four gospels? Why not only one? You may have noticed that there are significant differences between the gospels. Come along to get a new perspective on what a gospel is, how the gospels came to be written, and why they are such an important element of our Christian tradition.

Maura O’Donovan is a Sister of the Holy Faith of the United States Region. She has worked in the African American community in New Orleans for the past eighteen years, where she currently conducts adult classes in Bible and Church History. Before being assigned to the United States, she worked in a number of primary schools in Ireland. In the United States, Maura has taken studies in pastoral ministry, black theology and scripture studies, some on location in the lands of the Bible.
