My Mother was fostered from St. Brigid’s in Eccles Street DOB 28/05/1928 we believe her mother was a 14-15 year [Mary Kate Kelly, Thomastown Kilkenny on baptismal cert.]my mother has still items her mother gave before handing over her child [my mother] to the foster mother. She was fostered to a local woman in Dorset St. Mary Glennon an older woman with grown up children. From a very young age 9yr I knew my mother was adopted having found a passport of my aunt with the same name Anne Glennon. My mum is still alive and we have searched and gone to Thomastown Kilkenny searched grave yards to no result while my mum still lives we as a family need to know who that young child handed over her baby in St. Brigids!!!!
To Maire Rock : Make urgent contact with Susan Lohan (Adoption Rights Alliance) or Maeve O’Rourke, human rights lawyer – these women are helping people put together the fractured lives caused by the Irish State. They will help you – don’t depend on these organisations to go out of their way to help you find the information you seek. The whole Irish system is made to obstruct people’s human rights – the country is an absolute disgrace. Maeve O’Rourke details from internet : Contact ICCL

Good Afternoon,
I am seeking information related to my Late Mother [ Mary Tierney ] who I believe was placed/ worked at St Brigid’s orphanage , 46 Eccles Street Dublin, between 12th April 1945 and 6th April 1947. Background to my search has traced that Mum was at Tuam Mother and Baby home from March 1942 until May 1943, where she gave birth to a son Gerald Tierney on 8th May 1942. If you have any information or who to speak to next please post
