Le Chéile Conference 2019

The Le Chéile Schools Trust annual conference was held in Athlone, Co Roscommon on the 7 and 8 February 2019. This year the Trust is celebrating the tenth anniversary of its establishment. There are fifty-three Voluntary Secondary Schools and eight Community Schools in the Le Chéile Schools Trust.

These include our five (Holy Faith) Secondary Schools:

St. Mary’s Secondary School, Glasnevin, Dublin; St. Mary’s Secondary Secondary School, Killester, Dublin; St. David’s Secondary School, Greystones, WicklowSt. Michael’s Secondary School, Finglas, Dublin; Holy Faith Secondary School, Clontarf, Dublin and St. Wolstans Community School, Celbridge, Co Kildare.

Ms Eilis Humphreys, Education Officer of Le Chéile Schools’ Trust welcomed all the guests which included representatives from Boards of Management, School Staffs, parents and included two pupils from each of the sixty-two schools in the Trust. This special year was marked by the launching of a new song for Le Chéile – jointly composed by Sr.Marie Dunne and Ciaran Coll (Teacher at St. Mary’s, Glasnevin). The song is entitled Together, We Are Called.

The theme for the Conference was Welcome, Wisdom and Witness.  The keynote speaker was Sister Monica Joseph – Superior General of the Congregation of Religious of Jesus and Mary (RJM). Holy Faith Sisters in attendance were Sr. Rosaleen Cunniffe CHF (Congregational Leader), Sr. Una Collins CHF, Sr. Antoinette Keelan CHF, Sr. Patricia O’Malley CHF and Sr. Marie Dunne CHF.

    Enjoyed hearing about Le Cheile and seeing pictures of the Holy Faith Sisters. Congrats to Marie for composing the new song. Thank you for posting this so we all could celebrate with you from across the Atlantic. Vickey
