Nursing Home Residents Visit Community in Kilcarrig

Some residents of Marian House Nursing Home spent the afternoon in the Holy Faith Community House Kilcarrig, near Tallaght, a suburb of Dublin.

Although the weather was not kind and the delights of the garden could not be enjoyed except through the window, the spirits of the residents were not dampened especially when a sumptuous afternoon tea appeared.

The eagerly anticipated visit required detailed planning with risk assessment plans for all residents with mobility difficulties, the loading of an assortment of walking aids, booking of wheelchair taxis and careful planning of the staff rota to allow nurses and carers to accompany the residents while providing care for those who did not travel.

A big thank you to Fran and her staff for all the extra work involved and to the host community who pulled out all the stops to ensure a great afternoon for all.

Out of respect for the privacy of the residents, images of them are not produced here. Instead there is a painting by the late Sr Jo Corby, a former resident of Marian House
