New Role in Catholic Education Parramatta, Sydney

Sr Brenda Kennedy, Foundation Principal of Holy Family Primary, Emerton, in the Diocese of Parramatta, Sydney, is about to embrace a change of role but still within Catholic education.

Brenda  concluded her time as Principal at Holy Family on 8 May, 2015 and will move to a newly created position in the Catholic Education Office as a home school liaison minister with particular focus on students known as ‘habitual non-attenders’.

Executive Director of Catholic Education in Parramatta, Greg Whitby, said that ‘ Sr Brenda will be significant in developing and shaping Parramatta’s response to those students … This is important work and we look forward to Sr Brenda joining a new team and being part of this major focus in Parramatta Diocese’. Brenda will spend some time in the Diocesan office in preparation for her new role identifying needs and existing resources and will also spend sometime overseas observing best practice in Canada, UK and Ireland.

The Catholic Education Office, Parramatta operates and provides administrative and professional support to the 78 Catholic schools (56 primary and 22 secondary) in the Diocese of Parramatta.
