Sr Imelda Carew and Sr Paula Buckley, both Presentation sisters in Ireland, drowned while swimming off Inch Beach in County Kerry where they been on holiday. A third Presentation sister was on the beach at the time.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Presentation sisters and the families of Imelda and Paula in the time of this sudden tragic loss.
Both sisters were born in Tipperary and will be buried in their home county. Paula was due to celebrate her Golden Jubilee of Profession only three days after her death. Her funeral will take place in Cashel and Imelda will be buried from Mountmellick parish church.
We join in sorrow, in prayer and in the hope of the Resurrection with their families, friends, Presentation communities and the people of the many parts of Ireland in which they served and are remembered so fondly.
